THE PAST
I started to blog three years ago in 2009 and this blog was the first one. It's been so long ever since that I've decided to write a new introduction to replace the old one and to introduce myself to all of you new readers! Back then I wasn't familiar with blogging culture at all and had no idea what I was supposed to do, I just did what I wanted to do. This blog served me as a public diary of some sort and it was just a new beginning for me as I was finishing up my livejournal days. By time I learned to attract more readers, to write better in English and to change the layout of my blog, which I did a lot. Like, a lot a lot. I still do.
By time I also grew myself, I became an adult, my interests changed through time and so did the content of this blog. A few years back I carried my little pocket camera with me every day and posted all of the pictures here so those days wouldn't be forgotten. Now my average days are too boring and I don't even own a pocket camera anymore. I have a big Canon camera that is too big to carry around every day (though I still try to) and I don't want to post about the days that I haven't spent doing something... well, something.
THE NOW
The subjects in my blog today mainly revolve around music, photography and art, probably because that's where my heart lays. I've put a lot of thought into whether to delete this blog and start a new one and not but I didn't want to. This blog is the original one, my baby, my therapist and my best friend, and I don't want to give it up.
My daily life isn't just those cool things I post about in here (in fact my everyday life is quite dull), but in my free time I like to see live music and I'm currently learning to capture those shows into pictures as well. I shoot and write about music for my own webzine John Doe Revolution in where I at times do some interviews well. I feel very lucky to have met so many amazing people as I have through John Doe. If this blog is a friend of mine, John Doe is my lover and has had a huge impact on my life in the past few years. This blog focuses a lot on that; my life as a reporter and my hopefully bright future amidst it.
Art is another thing that I love. I have and will post more about it. Like I mentioned, I write and photograph for John Doe and writing has always been a huge deal for me. I couldn't breathe if I couldn't write everything down, that's probably why I blog and always carry around countless amounts of notebooks to scribble in. However, in the past six years or so I've started to take painting more serious as well. I've started to put some serious effort in developing myself as an artist and even studied art in school for few years. I put my first ever art exhibition together in 2010 and am hoping to have the next one in 2012. The first one, Changing Lights, was held at a Youth Center called Happi. I'm dreaming about arranging the next year's exhibition in an actual gallery, it would mean a lot to me but we'll have to see what happens.

AIN'T A DJ GONNA SAVE MY SOUL, I SOLD IT LONG AGO TO ROCK 'N' ROLL
So that's my blog, what about me? Well... The paper facts are that I'm 20, live in Finland, study on the media field, work as a freelance writer and photograph and paint as a hobby. What else?
I love rock to the very chore of my being. I breathe for heavy guitars, astonishing vocals and true rock 'n' roll attitude. I love the culture; the rivets, the leather, the motorcycles, the piercings, the tattoos, the Jack Daniel's bottles and the backstages. I love the thought of misfits uniting and starting a revolution, I love the small venues, moshpits and headbanging and most of all I love love love the moment at concerts when the crowd unites their sounds into one voice and screams the words to that one song that every single person on that spot loves.
Despite my musical taste, I'm a sensitive girl. I love poetry, reading and writing, I love pink and I squeal for cute fluffy things. I like make up, and love trying to look pretty. I'm shy, I giggle if I get romantic attention, and I crave for romance. Sometimes I entertain myself with pop music ridiculous pop music and actually enjoy listening to it. I'm a girly girl and most of the time you probably couldn't see my love for rock from my outlook.
I collect earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings, I have shitloads of jewelery and I even make them myself from time to time. I love to do stuff myself; it makes them way more meaningful and unique. I don't dance. If you see me dancing I'm probably feeling uncomfortable already so don't make fun of me. I love random facts, they say a lot about a person. I get easily sad but I'm also easy to make happy.
I believe that respect isn't something to earn, it should be the starting point. I believe that just existing as a person can sometimes be hard. I believe in being a good person. I've experienced that great art does indeed come from great pain, but it also comes from other great emotions. I have great love towards creativity and a huge passion towards passion. Anything that's different and is created with passion draws my attention. Put your heart into everything you do, and you will be great.
XOXO
Joanna
ps. I'd love to know the people on the other side of the screen! Who are you, where do you live, what do you do and why are you here?
