Gym Class Heroes

Last night was such a fun night! Even though I love rock music to my very chore at some point you just get really frustrated at metalcore shows. Moste of the time it's basically just the same show over and over and over again and even if the show is good... well, you've just seen it already. That's why lately I've really enjoyed going to other concerts as well, pop gigs are just so much fun to go to because the contrast is so big to the metal shows.

Yesterday I got to shoot Gym Class Heroes for ChaosTube. I was so stoked when I realized I have the fisheye lense so I can shoot with it instead and try it out as a concert lens. At first it felt weird because you can't zoom with it but I got used to it pretty quickly. I just hate shooting with my basic kit lens now. The fact that it's a bit broken and has some issues while focusing just makes it really hard to use when shooting shows, even though I can bare with it on any other time.

Oh yeah, and guess who were warming up for GCH!

Henri going towards the light.
Yes, 15 Minutes Before The Dive was it! Ha, it was so much fun to see them live again, it's been a while already. I didn't see them a lot after the show so if you're reading this guys; a lot of hugs! They did so good and I felt so happy noticing what an amazing crowd they had! They have a show at Virgin Oil this Friday so if you're on the Helsinki area I suggest you go and take a look!

And then to Gym Class Heroes... They were so good!! I've always thought very positively of them but never really deeply read up on them. Just knew the big hits by name and so on. It was so much fun to shoot them and when Cupid's Chokehold came on while we were on the pit, I could help but jamming a bit with Aikku every once in a while. Sometimes when shooting shows it's so hard not to dance while doing it.

I think the GCH pictures turned out really good! I'm kind of proud - for once! Especially of the last picture.

XOXO
Joanna

Näyttää enemmän joltain 20mm laajakulmalinssin jäljeltä kun fisulta...

Hey - I don't mean to show off my own knowledge here, but your pictures sure don't look like they're taken with a fisheye; if they were, none of the lines would be straight. Which lens do you have, exactly? To me it looks like a regular wide angle lens.

Linssissä lukee isolla CANON FISHEYE, joten eiköhän se ihan se fisheye sillon ole. :)

Umm, sorry but they are. :D It's a Canon Fisheye 155mm. Apparently with my camera it works more like a wide angle lens but I don't mind. Also I changed lenses in between taking pictures so the first two GCH pictures were taken with an ordinary kitlens and the rest with the fisheye. I think the effect can be seen but just not so dramatically.
